Behmen (Nicolas Cage) is a medieval knight who faces an ancient dark force. Eventually he becomes the only man in the world who is able to save the civilization, but let’s observe the plot in details.
Behmen is a former crusader and when he returns home after years of roaming, he finds out that his homeland in the heart of Europe is annihilated by the Black Plague. The dying Cardinal apprehends Behmen and his friend Felson and tells them about the young girl. She lives in a distant village and the Cardinal is sure that she is a witch chargeable for the Black Plague in Europe. He wants Behmen to find her and to procure her to a far away abbey where her capacities can be abolished. Together with five fellows Behmen starts a very insecure voyage. But none of them has an idea how dangerous a young cunning girl can be and what kind of story they are getting in…
